The cardinals were extra loud today, high in the cedars that line my street. I don't know what's special about today--maybe it's because the Papa is replacing 13 disgraced Chilean cardinals in June. Or maybe it was just that the sun was out after two days of rain. Or maybe it was none of these, just the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
