Yesterday was the first day of Summer, and a new blue was added to the grassy landscape near Heron Station.  Actually there were two new blue entrants, chicory and corn flower.  The corn flower is a little more fussy than the chicory, and looks a little more cultivated--something like the difference between the simple beauty of the wild rose and the fulsome, copious bloom of the peony. Both blues are pleasing, and it was startling to see them arrive in such numbers of a morning.  Clearly, it is not just mushrooms that grow so profusely over night.
